Dal Lake, renowned as "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir" is situated in Srinagar, India. Being the second largest lake in Kashmir it attracts tourists in and outside the country.
It is famous for its houseboats and Shikaras. Floating gardens and a center island known as Char Chinar are other attractions.
The lake is surrounded by the Mughal gardens which are built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir.
